Scriptures:
Zephaniah 1:7, 12-18 The day of the Lord
Psalm 90:1-8 [9-11] 12 Apply our hearts to wisdom. (Ps. 90:12)
1 Thessalonians 5:1-11 Be alert for the day of the Lord
Matthew 25:14-30 The story of the slaves entrusted with talents
Key verse: Good News
“For God has destined us not for wrath but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ.” 1 Thessalonians 5:9
Questions to ponder:
1. What talents do you have and how have you practiced them to make a difference in the life of others?
2. What has prevented you from using or practicing those talents?
3. What talent would you like to have and why?
Prayer:
God of generous giver, we give thanks to you for giving us talents that are meant to build up the body of Christ. Bring your healing and comfort to those in need and strengthen what has been weakened. Give us the will to see talents in ourselves and in our siblings in Christ. May our talents multiply each day to glorify you. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
