Scriptures:
Amos 5:18-24 Let justice roll down like waters
Psalm 70 The Lord is my helper and my deliverer
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 The promise of the resurrection
Matthew 25:1-13 The story of the wise and foolish bridesmaids
Key verse: Good News
“We grieve but not as if we have no hope.” - 1 Thessalonians 4:13
Questions to ponder:
1. What difference have you noticed between grieving for a person you have a relationship with and a person you do not have a relationship with?
2. What are some helpful healing paths or practices for you as a person of faith going through grieving?
3. What do we hope to gain from each grieving process as a person of faith?
Prayer:
God of Hope, no one will ever grieve as you grieve for us and with us at the loss of a loved one. And no one would also grieve as you grieve for all and with all going through any grieving journey. We know that you, through the Cross, go the farthest you can go to redeem each life that you love dearly. Being your loved children and Jesus’ disciples, we await to celebrate in Hope the day when all peoples will gather in your name at the kingdom banquet. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
