The 20th Sunday after Pentecost, Year A
Scriptures:
Isaiah 25:1-9 The feast of victory
Psalm 23 Blessed abundantly amid threats
Philippians 4:1-9 Rejoice in the Lord always
Matthew 22:1-14 God’s invitation to all and for all
Key verse: Good News
“And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7)
Questions to ponder:
1. What is it like to see all the invitations from Christian fellows as if they come from God who works behind the scenes?
2. And how would you honor God and nurture your relationships with others in Christ as it’s described in Philippians 4:8 in those gatherings?
3. And what might be the things that we could give thanks to God for as the results of Paul’s recommendations in 4:8?
Prayer:
God of victory, we gladly want to be in any places where you are. May our attitudes, behaviors, and words reveal your protection, comfort, and healing towards not only us but those we encounter. May your goodness and mercy follow all those who praise your name all the days of their life. Amen.
