The 2nd Week of Easter, Year A
Scriptures: Psalm 16; John 20:19-31; Acts 2:14a, 22-32; 1 Peter 1:3-9
Key Verse: “After he said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples rejoiced when they saw the Lord.” (John 20:20)
Questions to ponder:
1. Amid grieving, what could a joyful spirit offer without diminishing sorrow? How do you differentiate joyfulness from happiness?
2. Who is that person bringing you joy whenever he or she is around? Why is the personal joyful or how does that person make a given moment joyful?
3. In your view, what else could bring a similar joy to the community or congregation you are part of?
Prayer: God of Joy, show us your presence relentlessly amid our disbelief, hinting us through your irresistible love and mercy, opening the door to your peace in our hearts and minds, and surrounding us with wounded healers and soul comforters. Amen.
